Aprotinin
Source: Bovine LungsGeneraldescription
White or almost white powder ,also known astrypsin inhibitors. Molecular formula C284H432N84O79S7,molecular weight of 6511.52 g/mol. 1 unit Aprotinin can make 0.8μg methyltrypsin inactivation. Aprotinin is a polypeptide consisting of a chain offifty-eight amino acids. Soluble in water, and can keep stable on neutral andacidic conditions, but denatured on alkalineconditions.
It inhibits the activity of severalproteolytic enzymes such as chymotrypsin, kallikrein, plasmin and trypsin, preventother active protease and trypsinogen was activated in the pancreas ,etc.
Application
--In clinical, used in the prevention andtreatment of acute pancreatitis, hemorrhage and disseminated intravascularcoagulation caused by fibrinolysis.
--It can prevent or delay the developmentof pulmonary interstitial edema (shock lung), and its inhibition has a dose andtime dependent.
--After abdominal surgery, injected directlyinto the abdominal cavity can prevent intestinal adhesion.
